Abrams PV
Seattle, WA
The Abrams house was recently highlighted in the Seattle Times "Footprint" publication (6/29/08) and includes the 3 kilowatt PV system we installed. 15 Sanyo 200 watt panels were mounted on the garage with a reverse pitch rack. The tilt angle is a bit lower than normally set for aesthetic reasons but maximizes summertime solar access; a great tradeoff. The balance of system includes a Xantrex 3.0 Inverter that was installed on the exterior wall of the garage adjacent to the existing utility meter. The slim profile of the Xantrex unit fit in perfectly with the space available on the wall. This system is expected to produce approximately 3 MegaWatt hours of electricity per year for the home. The two bottom pictures on the right show before and after pictures of the wall with the meters on it.
